Kratie is a small city on the banks of the Mekong River in Cambodia. There are intact buildings with French colonial architecture mixed with modern architecture. If you take the bus from Siem Reap, you take 9 hours, and from Phnom Penh is faster, about 6 hours.
The best experience associated with Kratie’s name is nothing more than watching river dolphins swimming on the Mekong. This is a rare freshwater dolphin standing on the brink of extinction, leaving only a few few individuals. The most beautiful spot to see dolphins is from Krampi, 20km from Kratie. When you arrive in Kampi, you will have to rent a boat. This is extremely easy because the boat house is extremely welcoming on board. For just a few dollars, you can float in the water for 1-2 hours to admire the precious dolphins swimming.
Kratie allows visitors to tour through villages along the Mekong River. Especially if you rent a scooter or motorbike, you can enjoy excursions without having to consider too much planning. Most Kratie city lodges have information about the area and the cool and interesting things you should explore. Residents are friendly “super”, surely they are always ready to help you when needed.

hnom Sambok Resort: this is a natural resort and about 11km from the town. This area has a very good location for tourists to visit. It has a mountain with many colorful birds and rich vegetation. When standing on the top, visitors can observe the beautiful natural scenery. Especially, the whole image of the Mekong River flows smoothly.
100-column Pagoda: located in Sambor district, about 36 km north of Kratie town center. The pagoda was built in the area formerly known as the Royal Palace temple of Sam Phu Borak capital of Chen La period. There are 4 Buddhist temples facing 4 directions: Vihear Lao pagoda to the west, Vihear Sar Sar pagoda to the north, Vihear Kork Keut pagoda to the east and Vihear Kork pagoda to the south.
Kampi Resort: Going along Highway 7 to the North about 15 km from the town, visitors will come to Kampi Resort. Usually from January to May is the time when tourists traveling to Cambodia visit these five places the most. And this is exactly where tourists can see
