Hello,
I am visiting Vientiane for the 1st time in Feb 2016. As a British citizen do i need a visa?
Should I get this in advance or is it simple to acquire on arrival? I don’t want to spend hours in a queue ..

Hello there,
All visitors need visa when visiting Laos. There are 2 ways which you get Visa for Laos:
- Firstly, get Visa in advance of arrival at Laos Embassies and Consulates by yourself with $35 or it can be done through a tour company recognized by the Laos PDR from Laos Embassies or Consulate countries. If you don’t want to waste time in a queue, you can choose this way to get Visa.
- Secondly, get Visa at the International Checkpoints. If you have planned to visit Vientiane, you can get Visa at Wattay International Airport in Vientiane Capital or some International Borders Crossing Points.
If you want to get Visa for Laos, just make sure that your passport is still valid at least 6 months and plan to arrive at one of the Lao international ports of entry where visas on arrival are issued.
